How many people do you know who have fought their way, to success, out of difficulties and hardships? I cam across this exemplary and inspirational success story of Chip Foose.Foose started working on automobiles at his father's company at the age of 7. Foose was very much impressed by Ford and Preston tucker designer Alex Tremulis and this inspired him to join Art Center College of Design. He could not complete his education and had o drop out after two years because of financial difficulties. Amidst of hardships and problems, Foose completed his education in 1991. He continued to work for some street rod companies as a designer for hot rods, and ultimately started his own company in 1998. In 2003, Foose got more exposure as a result of a TLC documentary on his design and creation of a modified 2002 Ford Thunderbird called the Speedbird. In 2006 the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA)announced that there was a pact between Foose and Ford to produce Foose designed Ford vehicles. The first of such vehicle was displayed at New York Auto Show 2007. Foose was hired as design consultant to provide architects with unique styling elements for the interior and exterior of the $275 million expansion of Detroit's MotorCity Casino.
As of 2007, Foose continues to star in TLC's Overhaulin', operate Foose Design, and provide design consultations to the Big Three automakers.
